The specialized Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Department at Shiraz Central Hospital, staffed by capable physicians and experienced professionals, offers modern medical facilities including Pentax and Olympus endoscopic devices equipped with NBI for diagnosing stomach and intestinal cancers, as well as a Fuji endosonography device for painless diagnosis and sampling of mucosal lesions, cancerous or non-cancerous, using Ultrasound waves in the digestive system. This department is conveniently located on a separate floor in Building No. 3 of the hospital to facilitate patient access.

Procedures performed in this department include:

- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy: Evaluation of esophageal, gastric, and duodenal diseases (gastric polyps, bleeding ulcers, acid reflux)
- Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy: Assessment of large and small intestine diseases, intestinal obstruction, polyps, polyp treatment
- Sclerotherapy: Injecting sclerosing agents to control gastrointestinal bleeding
- Polypectomy: Removal of gastric and intestinal polyps
- Foreign body removal: Extracting foreign objects that enter the gastrointestinal tract through the mouth
- PEG placement (Gastrostomy Tube): Inserting a tube from the abdomen into the stomach for patient feeding
- Rubber band ligation: Preventing and controlling bleeding varices using rubber bands
- Gastric balloon insertion: Placing a gastric balloon to aid weight loss
- Achalasia balloon dilation: Treating esophageal strictures without known secondary causes by dilating them using silicone dilators known as bougies or Savary dilators
- Diagnostic Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS): Ultrasonography via upper or lower endoscopy for more accurate evaluation of stomach, duodenal, gallbladder, liver, and adjacent lesions using Ultrasound waves
- Therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound (FNA): Sampling lesions within the stomach and outside, aiding in the diagnosis of digestive system cancers
- U.B.T Test: Helicobacter pylori microbe detection using carbon 13 for tracking the root cause of H. pylori microbes (suitable for pregnant women and children)
- A.P.C device: Control of gastrointestinal bleeding, elimination of precancerous lesions in the stomach and intestines via argon gas release through painless and non-surgical endoscopy

The Gastroenterology Department also features a recovery room with comprehensive patient monitoring after procedures, accompanied by sedation and anesthesia (sedation). This department's modern amenities and the presence of top-notch gastroenterology specialists have transformed it into one of the best endoscopy departments. It should be noted that all procedures in this center are conducted under sedation and anesthesia without patient awareness or recollection.
